engine swap 3.8 to 5.0

Hi I'm looking to kick the 6 in my 95 Mustang for the 95 5.0. My v6 has obdII in it and I am trying to find out if any of the 5.0s had it in there as well. I also would like to know what all I need. I know I need to do suspension, breaks, trans, clutch, rear end, ecu/ wiring.

I am also wanting to know how the obdII would handle engine mods. Such as internals, and injectors. Anything can help. I just want to know what kinda of hell I'm getting in to. If anyone on here has done this please let me know any problems you ran into along the way as well as some tips.(tips on wiring are greatly appreciated) Thank you.

Sorry but they didn't have the 5.0L with obd2 in the stang. You can use your suspension, breaks, trans, they are the same as the 5.0L and rearend"if you don't want to change the rearend" the stock rear will hold up good enough if it's just a DD. As far as I know the only 5.0L that had a obd2 ecm was in the explorer "I'm not sure though".

If you're going used motor route then buy the wire harness and motor from a junk yard and then it will work, if you do that then you also need the instrument cluster from a gt of that year. You do not need to change the dash harness because ford made them innerchangable "With the 3.8L/5.0L". You will also need the right mass air flow for the 5.0.

you can perhaps buy a donor car thats wrecked and yank all the parts you need from it and use them such as wiring harness and such.

first of all i tell everyone. pins 20,40,60 are grounds on the ecu. you may wanna ground those straight from the ecu to the kick panel. the main things to watch for is to make sure the o2's are getting power, and make sure the fuel pump is connected to the ecu. you can igniton power the pump if have to. and lastly, check the mass air meter to make sure it's hot as well. im workn on my 3rd efi v8 conversion. it's not hard, but it's rally for beginers either. just my opinion
