Depends on the shop. Call around and get quotes. It probably just needs one synchro but it could be the gear itself or the fork. Gm synchro mesh is a fluid made by general motors for transmissions. It is great at clearing up shifting problems.

Re: Hi im having tranny problems

try taking up slack in the clutch cable, probably wont help any but its a free thing to do.

car is off, push in the clutch with your left hand all the way and take your right hand and put over the quadrant (above the gas petal, its white/plastic and you can see the clutch cable going over the top of it.

Ease out of the clutch petal slowly while holding tension against the quadrent wanting to rotate, it must rotate but you are just holding it back while it turns with pressure. You will hear a click as the clutch comes out. Do a couple clicks.

The adjustment should raise the clutch petal up a bit and firm it up, drive the car at 55mph or 45 what ever holding the gas steady ease in the clutch the rpms should not rise until you have more than a half inch of the clutch petal pushed in, then you are ok. Any less and its to tight.

To remove adjustment just lift up on the underside of the clutch petal with your foot, hard shifts may unadjust this and require you to redo it.
