acts like its flooding

I bought a 90 5.0 a couple weeks ago and its acting like its flooding out . It cranks good in the mornings but when the engine is hot I have to hold the gas pedal down a little bit and hope it catches. If not I have to wait for a while to get it to crank. Any help is appreciated , help that keeps me from spending alot of money is really appreciated.

my 01 mustang wouldnt idle when it was cold, i would have to hold the gas petal down a bit so it would stay running.

it was the IAC (idle bypass valve) not sure the 90 has the same thing~ also a good maf cleaning is not a bad idea (cheap to do just use electronic parts cleaner NO residue)

I had this exact problem with my 2.3. Not sure what was causing it on mine but we replaced the battery, cleaned the MAF, and put in a new coolant temp sensor and it seems to be solved.

Oh and welcome to ME

On mine I did the above, sprayed carb cleaner on a rag then wiped inside the TB around the butterfly, then replaced the plugs, cap, and rotor. All fixed
