Nitrous question?

Can I used a 75-100hp wet shot with a stock 302 lower end in my 94 Cobra?

Re: Nitrous question?

you should be ok if the tune is good etc, some shots are RWHP and some are crank so keep that in mind.

Yes you can go a 75 shot without retarding the timing but over that you need to ****** it 2 degrees for 100 shot..3 for a 125 shot and 4 for 150.....150 is max on a stock bottom end and don't do it often. I cruise with the 75 in all the time and bring out the bigger jets for track days. And a wet system is safer than a dry shot

Ok cool , I'm gonna stick with what I first decided with the Edelbrock Performer heads, cam, intake , I just ordered the heads and cam last night and I already have the intake and every other bolt on, I'm not look for crazy power just something fun to drive so I rather put 75-100 shot insteady of a supercharger

You can, but i would strongly recommend retarding it more than a couple degrees!

I have a friend that runs a 150 shot like its gasoline through his stock bottom end 302. Drop the timing 4 degrees or so and run a colder heat range spark plug. That should alleviate any major issues. Just dont forget that every motor is different and yours may react very differently than any others.

Yes ....for 100 shot you have to ****** timing as well or fill up with 110 octane...I have an ais meth kit that sprays the same time my nitrous so I don't have to ****** timing at all....before that I was mixing 1lier of toluene with a half tank of fuel to bring octane on the tank to well over 100 and that eliminated any chance of detonation. I have a 4.6 liter engine and it was alot of trial and error on a deserted highway to figure out timing ******. I suggest using your tuner and starting with -5 degrees timing and running it til you find your sweet spot. And I have a zex kit. I bought it off eBay real cheap but it only came with a 55/65/75 hp jets. I bought the 100/125/150 separate....on the street up to 75 hp doesn't need any timing ****** but 100 does...I found out the hard way...buy a meth kit and you don't need to ****** at all. And at wot add 4 so you get ample fuel for the nitrous to burn up. Just that alone was good for 2/10ths in the quarter

Now I'm only using 24lb injectors! Does that have anything to do with what size jets I'm gonna use , most likely for now it's only gonna be a 75-100hp shot

Nope...the stock fuel system can handle up to about 200 but the bottom end is in question when going that big. The key is using your tuner and adding fuel at wot. Start at + 6 and work your way down til you find it pulls the hardest...I found a 2 lane highway just outside the city to do my trial and error. I found that at 150 plus 6 pulled the best and wasn't too rich. At a 100 shot plus 4 would be close. I am spraying meth now so the fuel system has less to compensate for.
