Turbo. I like them due to the fact that it's spun via your exhaust therefore "free" power and a supercharger runs off your crank and there is parasitic loss. A turbo tends to build a very flat torque curve which is nice. If you go supercharger a kenne bell or tork teck is the type I would suggest. I like that they are bolted right to the top of motor and get into boost very fast. No matter which you choose you are gonna be one happy camper.

Re: turbo or supercharge

There's a lot of people here who seem to like turbos. I've always done chargers. They really don't take any real hp to turn them. Your a/c compressor takes more power to turn. I don't like the idea of re-routing and restricting exhaust systems. If u r gonna force air in u gotta let it out as quick as possible.

Good point. There are pros and cons to each.

Re: turbo or supercharge

both have advantages and disadvantages. You need to be realistic with what your budget it and if you can afford to blow up the motor and rebuilt it etc etc (basically you are ok if it breaks down the line)

a turbo will give more power and more performance but will cost more

I have a single turbo on a four cylinder mustang engine that thing is my daily driver at 15-16 psi and it loves the boost I don't have any issues with it and I wouldn't go any other route but a turbo but that is just me I hope this little info helps.

Re: turbo or supercharge

i run a supercharger, i prefer them of turbos. at the end of the day, you could prolly make more hp with a turbo...but how much are you willing to spend to get it. i think turbos cost more in initial investment also. unless your "real good friends" with a good pipe bender.

there are alot of pros and cons for both, it's really bout personal preference and how much are you willing to spend to get it off the ground. to do it right, a motor set-up for boost tends to be a lil different than a n/a motor.

if your on a budget, i think everyone here can agree that stock low compression heads and a stock cam can save you alot of grief and be your best friend if your new to the world of boost. regardless if you go turbo or supercharged
