About my exhaust mid-pipes?

On my 94 cobra I have Bassani x-pipes with cats, but I wanna go with the off-road x-pipes, question is can I cut out my cats that I have now and use that as off-road or no? Should I just buy the off-road x-pipes? Thanks

when i had my tbird i just beat out the material with a really long pry bar. but if you can spare a couple hundred bucks just buy an off-road x and get it over with.

If it has high flow cats on it I wouldn't even worry about taking them off. They flow just as well as an off road x-pipe.

Well you could have them cut out, but it would probably cost almost as much as a new one so i would just buy a new one if your that worried about it.

Well is there a noticeable difference between the high flow-cats and off-road ones, I'm doing my HCI swap and just just Bassani headers, , I'm trying to figure out if it's worth changing the mid-pipes or not!!

Re: About my exhaust mid-pipes?

I have a bassani 5 piece x pipe on the cobra. When I bought it the high-flow cats were in place and I pulled them out and put pipes in their place. Honestly...it made very little sound difference and I imagine zero power difference.

If you just want the option look into selling your x pipe and buying one of the 5 piece units where you can remove them with ease.

I have to agree with lowflyn it isn't going to make a noticeable difference if any with the sound or hp.
