Re: underdrive pully

it depends on how much of an underdrive the system takes, most seem 5-10 rwhp~

FYI I just installed march steel underdrive pulley on my 1990 lx and the charging stayed the same because the pulley for my
3g alternator was same size as the underdrive replacement. To my surprise they actually helped with cooling! Before underdrives my car would get up to 195 on highway w 180 stat and now it stays around 185! A's far A's performance I noticed a difference in acceleration! The part # was march 1000-8 on summit for $55 if anyone is interested.

Re: underdrive pully

The only one I had any trouble with was the alternator pulley. The water pump and crank on mine were easy. 4 bolts each. Make sure to loosen the bolts with the serpentine belt still on though, makes it a lot easier to get them undone.
I did them on my '86 Vert, so not sure what year your car is, but should be simple enough. Couple of pics of mine......

Very easy! The only one that gives people trouble is the alternator because you need a impact to take the pulley on/off. My march set came with a lock washer for the alternator nut but I used it A's a spacer b4 the pulley went on because without it A's a spacer the pulley would rub on alternator but I have a 3G alternator on my 1990 stang so with a stock alternator I'm pretty sure the spacer wouldn't be needed!
