Frustated fox hunter

I'm still searching for a 87-89 fox . It seems everyone that I've seen so far is the engine and tranny is gone or the floor and frame are completely rotted. I'm going to look at one this weekend that the motor and tranny have been rebuilt. And has brand new paint job, only problem that both front floor pans are gone. Just wondering how much I'm looking at to fix them . And is this car worth it at $2400. It's a 1987 mustang lx hatch black. Any advice would be great.

Thx jp

I don't know the details, but I'll definitely ask for it when I go. Thanks for the advice.

I know that you can buy floor pans for foxes from American muscle, if I remember correctly I think they were like 200 bucks or something

I believe the 87 is a speed density car. Mass air car I would recommend.

I'd rather buy something with a broken motor than a rust bucket. Where are you located? There are usually a lot of foxes out there. I got my 93 coupe for 1000 bucks. Guy didn't know what he was doing. One fuel pump later and a couple other little things and it ran like a champ.

I live in Bolton , Ontario , Canada . I've been looking for about 6 months now and have come up with nothing. I guess with the one I'm going to look at on sat, I'm going to look and see if the rust has made it to the strut towers. If so the car is to far gone.

Why the mass air. Does it give more power ?

Much better fuel/air control. Responds much better to mods. There's a lot you can do with mass air motors without having to mess with the computer. You can do a mass air swap on the 87. Not sure what it involves. There's a couple on this site that seem like fox swap experts. If you get a speed density car. No big deal. Start a thread after about possibly converting.

Yes, you would need to make the swap. Converting is fairly inexpensive and easy.
