Rear End. Kaaaboom

Finally blew out my rear end. Any thoughts on the ford 9inch? Mine was jus the stock 8.8 what's the difference between them.

What kind of power you putting down, what was done the the Rearend previously? Were you launching with street tires or race tires?

There isn't really any difference at all between the 8.8 rear and the ford 9 inch. They are both same. The 8.8 is just a little smaller is all. Both are almost indestructable.

I beg to differ on this, the biggest thing on the 9 inch that is beneficial is the removable chunk. Makes gear changes at the track a snap.

In your case I don't see how a built 8.8 wouldn't suit your needs however. If you were still on stock axles and such there is definite room for improvement.

31 spline axles (strange), welded tubes, c-clip eliminators, a good diff cover, and some money on a nice locker and you'll be in business. Tranny will go before that rear will go.

This right here sir. And maybe something to brace the axle tubes, to keep them from twisting (heard it could happen)
