new 5.0 owner! just a few questions

Hey guys, just picked up an 82 fox body the other day. Had a 99 3.8l but decided that I wanted something easier to work on and had more potential anyways, as far as I was told the engine is rebuilt to stock specs, minus disc brake conversion, and an aftermarket cam. Basically what I'm wondering what modifications I can do with this early model year, and just any advice, articles, or anything so I can get started building her up. I'm trying to build for street/occasional strip use.

Welcome!
You could do a different cam and exhaust. If you want to get into the engine that is

Heck yea I do! That's what I bought the car for what cams and exhaust are recommended? Also what about carb size and which heads should I go with?

Sounds like a nice ride! I love the '82 noses! Does it have any mods yet at all?

Yea I really love the look of it as well, apparently its the pace car trim so it looks a bit different from wut I can tell, plus its friggin t-tops! anyways, all I know for mods is msd distributor, ignition, edelbrock carb and intake manifold, and apparently lopey cam, don't know from who though:S as far as what needs to be done is a tune for this high altitude, the radiator fan needs to be hooked up and the speedo doesn't work. But overall I'm really happy with the purchase

As far as a Carb, 600 to 650 CFM is the way to go, and I prefer Edelbrock over Holley, they are just easier to work with. Any bigger than that is too much. Your engine being a pre '85 is a flat tappet engine. '85+ was roller, so if you are looking to upgrade the cam, you will have to find a flat tappet cam. Lot's of good choices out there though.

Definitely post some pics, we would really like to see it!
