Clutch still turns tranny in neutral

i got my clutch in finally and to make sure there was no leak before i went ahead with the exaust and driveshaft.. i started it up let it run for a sec to make sure no leaks ... none so far ... then i went threw and checked the gears and noticed the speedo still moved while in neutral just like the rest of the gear didnt know if it was because i didnt have my drive shaft on or if something else is going on ... i recently put a rear main seal on and found out after trial and error my crank was drill all the way threw so it leak oil ... fixed that problem but wen i removed the clutch it had to black hot spots??? didnt know if this was brake in friction or if something was wrong lined it up with the tool and toqued it down ne ideas ??

Re: Clutch still turns tranny in neutral

well if you went through the gears then to neutral the trans was probably still spinning since you had no drive shaft bolted up to drag it down , did it eventually stop ?

That means ur not in neutral. You need to drop that tranny and have a look inside. Apparently ur clutch is operative,Does the speedo stop registering when you push clutch in?If it does than you really know it's enaging which it shouldn't in neutral.Problem is in the trans.

Just put it together man. Chances are with no driveshaft connected may spin a little. The input shaft is still riding in the pilot bearing which is spinning. Shouldn't be enough to make wheels spin. In neutral parts are still spinning in there.
