Intake Manifold Flow Numbers?

I have an 1989 Mustang LX 5.0 Stock except for an exhaust headers back. I want to do a CHI swap since i've got to tear the heads off to change the Valve Guide Seals. I don't know what intake to go with. Does anyone have any flow numbers for 24lbs injectors on the BBK or Edelbrock Performer RPM II? Thanks for any help.

Re: Intake Manifold Flow Numbers?

I'm not sure what your injector size has to do with it, actually it has nothing to do with it, but anyways, if you are doing an HCI combo, you might as well do all of it at once. Try these:

Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 5.0L EFI Engine Kits: TFS-K514-350370B - summitracing.com

I have this one and love it, I just have the cam that makes 360 hp and 350 tq. I'd go with the 350 hp and 370 tq cam since you get more for the bottom end. I love this kit and TOTALLY wakes the car up.

Holley SysteMAX II Engine Systems for 5.0L Ford: HLY-300-501-1 - summitracing.com

This is pretty much the same thing, just in Holley...

The only other thing I would do is get a new set of FRPP hydraulic roller lifters, since the stockers are probably showing age (like mine)

Ford Racing Hydraulic Roller Lifters: FMS-M-6500-R302 - summitracing.com

Now, it's kind of expensive but once put together and tuned will do wonders for your car.

I know you were asking for intakes, but since these intakes are made specifically for the rest of the parts in the setup, you would be maximizing the setup. You could also take the heads somewhere and have them ported and have the intakes port matched to the heads.

HOPE THIS HELPS!

Are you going to run stock heads? We need a little more info to really give good advice.

If you are running stock heads though, the Edelbrock RPM II is way too much intake. I haven't read much about the BBK, but it may be a little much too.

I'm planning on either a set of Ford Racing Z heads but not sure if it will work with EFI or a set of AFR 205s again not sure if compatible. ANd the cam will be a Comp Cams piece Grind number 281HR

DON'T PICK THE CAM BEFORE YOU PICK THE COMBO!!!!!!!!!!!! Put your stuff all in a pile, list all of it, get your vehicle weight, whether it's an auto or manual, what gear ratio and everything, and get a specific cam made for your combo... That is the BEST way to do it...

Is this for a 302? If so, that's a helluva lot of airflow for the displacement. You're gonna have to turn some serious RPMs (~7k) to make use of it. I would expect that combo to be more for a smaller 351 stroker, like a 383.

Re: Intake Manifold Flow Numbers?

205's on a 302 will require like 8,000+ RPMS, if I were you and were wanting to spin it I'd go with some 185's

in fact I'd probably still go 185's if I weren't spinning it and just put in a small custom cam.

Holy ****, how did I miss the AFR 205's on a 302.... Talk about low intake velocity.... It'd be like a hotdog in a hallway, I mean like a person blowing through a hallway.
