rocker arm help

Ok i have a 95 gt with 331 stroker and my rocker arms sound like they are loose. Can I just torque them down to specs or do i have to place each cylinder at top dead center first.

thanks

Re: rocker arm help

The second one.....check the procedure....BTW, did you check the valve train geometry and installed the correct PR length?.....

Re: rocker arm help

Umm... That's for a pedestal mount rocker setup... I'm pretty sure that he doesn't have that kind of setup unless he is more hardcore than I think he is. And how do you "check" for valvetrain geometry?? You can pretty much use any close to stock pushrod if you are using a stud mount roller rocker and hydraulic lifters......

This is what I'm pretty sure your are looking for Adjusting Stud Mount Rockers

Actually, the only way to answer your question is to determine what kind of rockers you are using. Are you using the stock style stamped rockers, are you using stud mount roller rockers, are you using a pedestal mount rocker setup, are you still using hydraulic roller lifters??? We need more info to answer your question...

Re: rocker arm help

actually bullitt you still have to check pushrod length with pedistal mount rockers, but you can only adjust using shims or planeing the mounts down. the problem is that the HRL will make up for about .030" s of "flub up" but after that things get nasty.

Re: rocker arm help

I never said you weren't supposed to :dunno: My statements were based on a stock style setup.... Which I'm pretty sure this guy is running. Like I said, to answer any of his questions, we need more info...
