white smoke when accelerating?

I have a 91 mustang lx. When i start the car everything is fine. But after awhile it lightly starts to smoke. Then it stops and starts again. And when i accelerate it lets off a lot of smoke.

Most likely your head gasket is blown.

Re: white smoke when accelerating?

Assuming your username is correct you have an LX 5.0. Head gaskets on a 5.0 are cake, for me anyway because I know what I'm doing. The parts are chap, but basically you have to tear the whole top half of the engine off of the car. Got any buddies you could supply some beer for to help you out?

Re: white smoke when accelerating?

Just make sure you all drink the beer when the job is done and car it back together LOL.

It sounds like your head gaskets for sure. Dont run it anymore you can cause more damage for sure.

Check your oil to see if water is in it. Change intake manifold gasket as well
