Starting the T-top Project finally.

Started working on the mustang today. Took oil pan off to check out bottom end, put new gaskets oil filter oil in it. Took off intake and valve covers to do the same. Installed new distributor. Need to get some upper intake bolts and injector caps, fuel rail bolts, pcv gromet, few hoses. Will be bolting transmission up and dropping engine in, sometime this week or next weekend.

Had a shock tower and frame that was worse than I thought when I picked the car up. Had to clean it up and cut out the bad spots and weld some nice new metal in there. Didn't get pictures of the engine but here are a few of the shock tower before and after. Got a little more welding to do and then some clean up.

Re: Starting the T-top Project finally.

Looks like you are going to have your hands full for a bit on a new project. The box repais and welds look nice and clean.

Good luck with your build and we will look forward to more updates as you get further along.

yea keep updates its also VERY good to keep all this and a log as you work on the car so if you ever decide to sell or even just at events you can flip through and show people HOW it was built *goes a LONG way in selling for more money if they know it was done RIGHT*

Re: Starting the T-top Project finally.

Thanx all. I will definitely be keeping keeping a running log of the repairs and post them up here. I did a 79 quite a few years ago and thats my biggest complaint. I never documented anything and have no pictures of it. I'm anxious to get this thing on the road, and the warm weather is making it worse. I'm ready to take the T's off and cruise.
