Gt-40 intake Manifold Mods

Quick question are there any specific modifications I have to do before installing the Gt-40 intake manifold?

Why not? The GT-40 intake flows pretty well.

Save the money and buy a full top end kit. Go all trick flow or sumthing

I'd personally rather have the GT-40 intake than the Trick Flow for a non stroked N/A 302. The GT-40 is well proven to make more torque than the base Trick Flow, Edelbrock and Cobra intakes. It just normally comes with a higher price tag as well.

As far as the OP, the only thing I can think you'll need are gaskets.

Re: Gt-40 intake Manifold Mods

I would have to agree it is a good starting point for sure. It will only keep growing from their trust me once you start it is not easy to stop buying and adding stuff.

Good Luck

Re: Gt-40 intake Manifold Mods

Good mod IMO also. Go with a set of GT40 iron heads with it and pull out a bit more power. You won't be disappointed with the gains there.

flow's the same . intake's are the same ,except the Cobra upper is cast while the GT40 has separate runners , witch tends it to run slightly cooler than the Cobra ...... explorer heads are great budget heads !!!!
had an 88 t-bird Turbo coupe that i put a 5.0 in once ,with an e303 cam gt40p (explorer heads ) and an edelbrock perf rpm int and 650 carb , it ran 12.50's all day , Dpn't think i had more than $2,000 in the whole car ?
