1995 Mustang GT help!!!

Hey Guys! Well I jus bought a 1995 Mustang GT 5 0 convertible! When I start it it sounds great, but when I accelerate and then let go of the pedal at the end when it's rpm is at the lowest it shakes real bad! And then it stops, but the motor sounds great and so does the exhaust! It just had a new radiator and module replaced? Idk if it's the harmonic balancer or the u joints? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Also when I start the car up it shakes but not as bad!!! Thanks nick

If it was the balancer it would shake throughout the rpm range...it could be mud on your drive shaft or a counter weight fell off or something like

Dang...that's weird! It might be the dampener just starting to go.... You should look at all the drive pulleys while the engine is running and throttle it up from the throttle body and look to see if there in any wobble from the balancer or any other pulleys. That might help in eliminating the balancer!

Ok thanks just a question does it have anything to do with the torque convertor or the bolt?

Not sure about aod cars...does it feel like it might be a stumble in the engine? It could be any number of things if so...we've eliminated the u-joints and or drive shaft since in only does it in park but u should check under the hood for wobble and if it doesn't then it's narrowed down to the transmission and or a fuel or spark problem!

Yea it's weird the engine sounds great it just when the rpm is goin down everything shakes even the steering wheel! It feels like the whole car is shaking! Violently I looked under the hood and the mounts seem to me ok? What is the best way to get a look at the mounts?

Might want to see if you can get a look at the flywheel and torque converter somehow. The converter could be loose or the flywheel could be cracked.
When you put it in gear and it stops vibrating, that may be because you are loading the drivetrain and putting pressure on a loose or broken component and preventing it from moving around freely.

one way to check the mounts is to put it in gear with the hood up and give it a little gas while in gear holding the brake. if the engine looks like it is trying to twist over or you hear a pop sound then you mounts are no good. when it does this what are the rpms at?

Re: 1995 Mustang GT help!!!

if they are bad it will be similar to this this of course is a fwd vehicle and they generally move more than yours would. but if they are bad you should get a similar effect
