Need opinions.....

What's everyones take on the GT-40 tube style intake, not the one that comes on explorers!? As in how they perform and how much they are worth to buy one new and used?

Re: Need opinions.....

It is a decent intake for mildly modified engines and yes, $300 for a used one is a pretty good price.
Just make sure it isn't cracked or broken anywhere.

The tubed GT40 intake is discontinued but if you look on eBay you can get them used for like $400-$550 there by far one of the best intakes through the 6500rpm range it's a shame ford stopped making them!!!

Isn't the GT40 intake basically a lightweight Cobra intake?
They use the same base.

Re: Need opinions.....

Yep, that's it.
I read an article in one of the performance magazines that it is basically a light weight tubular version of the Cobra intake.
The only drawback to it is that it cannot be ported out to flow as much as the Cobra or Explorer manifiolds.
