Re: gt40 install

5.0 ???? the front and rear of the cyl heads have a coolant passage , i always smeared a bead of permatex around both of these passages then put the intake gasket down over top of it ... torqued to 20 ft lbs ,starting from the center of the intake and working your way out / start with 10 ft lbs first pass then go to 20 the second pass ..... should be good to go / you probably muffed the gasket when putting the intake down ... i also used to use all thread on 2 or 4 of the bolt holes one or two on each side and lower the intake on using the all thread as dowels , then once the intake was on get some bolts in then remove the all thread and replace with your intake bolts .... finger tight ,then start your torque sequence .........

Re: gt40 install

Be sure to change your oil and mop up any antifreeze you see in the lifter valley. It's a killer for bearings if it gets in your oiling system.

Test fit the lower and make sure it hasn't been milled down for some reason.
