What Short Throw Shifter should i get for my car?

Hurst
OR
Steeda Tri Ax

So i have been wanting to get a dif shifter because i do not know what kind of shifter i have... i tried out my girl friends Steeda Tri Axx in her 94 GT, And i love it. Its Tight all the gears are tight... u drop it out of first gear and it shoots over to the middle for third.. its Real tight, the spring in it must be really strong. lol anyways i found a Hurst Shifter for $50 on craigslist that im wanting to buy but... will it have the same quallity or better then the Steeda?

Well I chose those two because I can either use my girl friends from her car or buy the hurst for $50 so, what one out of those two is better? Or they the same quality?

Don't think I can buy an mgw or pro 5.0 for $50

Sorry, I failed to notice that in your original post. My bad.

Being old school I would probably go with the Hurst.

consider MGW especially over Hurst.

Just curious and purely for my own research.
Do you have experience with both?
Why MGW over Hurst?

ive owned MGW and steeda shifters, both are good but MGW is simply better built and the adjustment of the handle makes it easier to reach/shift (go to mgwltd.com and see what i mean)

Of the two you have listed, I'd go with the steeda. I don't have any history with the hurst, but I've had a steeda before and it was nice in my 5 speed. I didn't like it at all in my T56 though and now have the MGW.

If you were open to other shifters, I would follow Spec's lead and also recommend the MGW. I just bought one for my T5 and can't wait to get the car done to see how the new orange handle is.

all are good shifters I just like the adjustment the mgw has that the others cant do (360 degree turning handle)

+1 it makes it a lot more comfortable shifting and not having to reach...every inch counts right?

I'd go with the Steeda. If you're open to spending more on a new shifter, go with the Pro 5.0. I have had both it and a MGW and preferred the "springiness" of the Pro 5.0. It made it practically impossible to miss the 2-3.
