351 / 78-80 / D8OE-AB / 69CC / 1.78/1.45

302 / 79-84 / D9AE-AA / 67.5-70CC / 1.78/1.46
I don't believe those would give you any performance gains.

I agree.
The C9-OE or D0-OE 351W heads fitted with larger valves (1.94/1.60) and some porting work used to be the hot ticket in the day.
Nowadays you are better off and money ahead to save what you might spend doing that and invest that money in a good set of aluminum heads.
You will get much better flow characteristics and lose a bit of weight off the front to boot.

Re: Heads

My advice, if you want the best option for a stock casting 302 head, is to go with some hand ported E7's.

What kind of power level are you wanting to achieve?

As an example I believe the Holley Systemax Kit (HCI) will net you around 350 HP at the flywheel.

Maybe you could use those part specs as a guide to build your own kit at a higher or lower HP level?

I'd choose the AFR 165 or 185's over the GT40p's.

Re: Heads

Avoid P heads. They actually flow pretty good, but headers for them are head specific and hard to find in the classifieds...

I'm running gt40 p heads right now with bbk shorties. It is a little tight and requires some finesse to change plugs but it was still definitely worth putting on those heads to me. Besides if headers are in your budget frp's headers are fairly inexpensive.
