I had that problem when my fuel pump was going out. Possibly throttle body? Ill bet someone will post with a probable solution as time goes by.

Make sure none of your plug wires are arching out. If they are grounding out it will cause those symptoms.

Right now would be the best time if possible. If not just wait till it gets dark pop the hood, crank it and see if it looks like a christmas tree...

I was just going to mention that! I had a similar problem when my MAF was dirty from over oiling the air filter. Try cleaning the sensor wires inside, it's free and easy to do.

There we go! I figured this was an obvious thing to check! Get some maf cleaner and spray the resistor inside the mad. That will most likely fix your problem.

Re: can't push gas pedal in more than half way help

Get a Haynes or Chilton's manual for your car.
Test the IAC and TPS.
Check your fuel pressure.
The regulator may be bad and not supplying enough fuel.

I saw that in your earlier post, but it won't help if the pressure regulator is bad. That's why you need to verify that you have the correct fuel pressure.

Texas is right I am an ase mechanic and my money is that your mass air flow is dirty or bad .... But mostly dirty and leave your 02 sensors alone....... Your throttle position would throw a code .... So clean mass air flow and in hook your battery terminals and touch the wires together than reinstall them and it should be fine

im not trying to sound rude. but ase dont mean much... anyone can read a book and pass a written test. you can get an ase without ever touching a car. like i said im not trying to be rude but help you realize that. the ford dealer i work at dont care if your ase certified. you have to be ford certified. they told me that my ase meant absolutely nothing to them... all they car about is ford certification. dont take this post wrong

Cool. I knew you had some experience yourself. Just couldn't tell how much. You've been at it longer than I have though. I just thought it was weird when the dealer told me ase doesn't mean anything to them...
