maf sensor question

Is it a bad thing to drive without the maf sensor hooked up it seems like my car is running better without it so I was curious if it will wreck anything

Re: maf sensor question

its really bad for it, I am amazed it runs near normal at all wtih it unplugged. I installed a CAI one time and left mine unplugged and it blew black smoke out the back.

Then again yours is an older one so it might not be as severe... either way I recommend using it.

I think you may have bigger problems if it runs better without it. That little device does a big job! I'm not an expert by any means but I would look into your fuel system. Just my .02
