Paint??

Hey guys

Tomorrow I want to take off the upper intake manifold to clean it and paint it! I have never done this before, but the painting part is going to be done by my buddy who paints for a living! So, how do I take it off? Anything I need to worry about? I heard that there are a couple bolts? Should I clean anything Like the TB while I'm cleaning the manifold? Thanks for all of your help and u would greatly appreciate opinions and help on what to do!!!

Thanks
Nickcap

Best thing to do is get a Haynes or Chilton manual so you have torque settings on assembly. Removing is pretty straight forward. Remove intake piping, throttle body and spacer, vacuum hoses and the intake plate on top of upper. It should take a t20 torqs screwdriver unless the screws have been changed. Then remove the bolts. There are 6 or 8 I believe. 2 are hidden under the intake plate. Also make sure you move the electrical "salt and pepper" shaker connections from the back of the upper so you don't have electrical issues on reassembly because those connections control just about everything. I am sure If I missed something someone will chime in.

If you are just doing upper and not removing lower then all the bolts you need to remove are the ones you can see attaching upper manifold to lower manifold. No need to remove lower manifold bolts if you are not doing anything with it.
