They should last longer and be more accurate for sure and you should be able to set/adjust your cam timing easier.
I had a chain on an old 302 once that was so badly worn, when you put a timing light on it you could see it jump back and forth 6 degrees or more.
Like a D.A. I took it for one last drive and it failed about 15 miles out.
