do the 10 minute tune-up , take the air box out ,remove the air silencer that goes into the fender , then re install the air box with a K&N Filter ,grab a timing light and advance the timing to *14 degrees initial , it'll wake right up !!!

I'd say cold air, exhaust, spark plugs, plug wires.

It will get you close for a top end kit & NOS if you can do the work yourself, but you will need more $$ to stroke the engine too.

TFS Top End Kit - $2449.99

NOS Kit - $599.99

331 Stroker Kit - $1131.99

Ur gonna spend about $5000 to get it in the 11s. I would just find stuff to make it more fuel efficient an less restrictive. And when I get enough put top end kits and NOS on it

The 351W would be a better choice.
It has more cubes to start with and it is a much stronger base for a performance engine than the 5.0.

I'd go for the 351. The torque difference for starters is crazy.

For the most part, leave the eBay kits on eBay.
Substandard parts and shoddy manufacturing may end up causing you more damage than the discounted price you receive is worth.

See the sticky thread on Superchargers and Turbos.

What do you want to do with the car?

I'd like a bored & stroked to 408 or 427 cubic inch 351W, with twin turbochargers.........but my pocketbook can't handle it right now.

Figure out what you want versus what you can afford or are willing to work toward and go from there.
That's what I did several (3) years ago and now I am within the purchase of 2-3 more items of having everything I need to complete my build.

Check out the tech articles at MM&FF for some ideas if you are likewise inclined on the 351W.

The holly systemax is a good one, although I'm assuming you mean cheaper. You could always go with some rebuilt gt40 stuff and take your savings and do some exhaust work or numerous other things.

Is there any downside to adjusting your timing? Would I need to get my car tuned? Could I go to Any local auto shop?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm about to move mine but don't know if the rumors of needing higher octane are correct or not.

You wouldn't need to have it tuned just by advancing your timing. No downside except it is preferred to run a higher octane to reduce the chances of pinging.
