Need Advice

I found this setup on craigslist. It seems like a good setup. Will the prochamber for the lungtube headers work for my mac shorties?

Mac 3" Exhaust

Also, i priced the 3 inch mac exhaust on macperformance.com for short tube headers and this is what i found:
Mac Prochamber 3" - $300
Mac 3 tailpipes" - $180
Mac 3" Offset inlet and offset outlet mufflers - $120 for both.
Thats already $600. So i could be getting a good deal. But will his setup work with my shorties?

No, it will not fit the shorties. The piping is longer for the short headers and shorter for the longtube headers.

You get the longtube headers with the exhaust in the ad, so what is the problem?

Yea the midpipe is to short for your shorties. If it was me i would buy the kit and sell your shorties. And put the long tube headers on your car.

Would I have to rig the mac long tubes like this? Then the steering rod will have to go through the long tubes.

Re: Need Advice

Are your Dad's headers, MAC headers?
If they are then yes you would and what difference would that make?
Wouldn't you rather have the extra HP a set of long tubes will gain you?

Yes. But I'm worried about the header rubbing.

Use a ball pein/peen hammer and carefully massage any areas that rub.
