I was told I could run 8 psi on it. My brother told me I could run 5 psi on it as a daily driver and then have a boost regulator mounted in the car to turn it up for when I go to race somebody. What would be the best SC kit for a carbed car? Paxton novi?
The only forged internals were the pistons. Otherwise the crankshaft & rods are the next weakest link.
As long as you keep it properly tuned you should be ok at 6-8 psi.
Not to sure about a "boost regulator"?
They use waste gates on turbochargers for that purpose, but I don't know about being able to do that with a supercharger.
WAIT A MINUTE! You can do that - SC/Wastegate
Of course since I bought a Paxton Novi 2000 for EFI, I would have to say that's my choice, but honestly any of the good name brands would work ok.
Since you are carbed you will have to use a "Hat" and a "blow through" tuned carburetor or get an "Igloo" that totally encloses the carb and use the one you have.
