Question on shocks.

So I'm just curious, do any of you guys have some Monroe shocks on your mustang? I had to get mine changed today, figured I'd go the cheap route until I can afford some eibach's. Anyways, any comments on them?

Re: Question on shocks.

On my 98GT, when it was replacement time I went with Monroe Sensatrac since my car was basically all stock. They worked fine for me with no issues.

They may be a little cheaper than some of the performance brands but they are still better than factory.

That's what I have now. It's a lot better of a ride now, the shocks I had were at 200k+, haha.

I have the sensatracs and have never had an issue. Unless your autocrossing there is no need to spend a ton on shocks.

I use the tokico illumina 5 way adjustable all around and I love em. Great shocks a little on the pricey side

I'm considering those or the QA1's
Both are a bit expensive, but I would love to have the adjustability.

The Monroe shocks will serve you well.
They have been in business for a long time and you can't do that without a quality product.
You just have to realize their limitations.

Ah, thanks guys! I don't plan on racing or street tearing with my car, haha. I just want a nice ride that I won't have to worry about with daily driving.

I have another question. This is more about springs, though. I'm doing a 5.0 swap into a '98 v6. Is it okay if I keep the stock springs, or should I upgrade/Change them?

The V8 weighs a bit more, so it would be best to change them out.
After the V8 is installed see if it is noticably lower more than before.

Yes, sir! And what kinda springs should I go with? I'd like the car to be slightly lower, but I don't want to have to buy caster camber plates and all that jazz.

Try your original 6 cylinder springs first and see how they look and work.
If they don't suit you, then check our site sponsors for replacments.
