What have you done so far?
Cause cold air intake is alwsys a good cheap part for a small hp gain. Exhaust maybe. Underdrive pullies

Advance your timing to 14 degrees. (free) But then you have to use premium fuel

To see some improvement you need to get a good CAI with a good throttle body

I took my 86 GT from 3150 to 2850 pounds (lots of work and fiberglass parts involved) and just the seat of the pants feeling difference was amazing. I also raced against a friend's Mustang before and after the weight loss and the difference was about 3 car lengths. The car just felt like it accelerated much faster than before.

the pushrod 5.0s have millions of things you can do, depends on what you want the end results to be and your budget and how much down time you can have

Agreed endless options. If your going to stay fuel injected your gonna want to find a good speed shop with a dyno. To keep you tuned up.

Re: I need cheap mods to make my mustang fast

unplug the octane plug and then run 98 octane , remove back seat, exhaust, pulleys, k&n, advance timing, do a nice tune-up.

You can, but your timing won't advance, so it won't run very well.
No it won't help unless you are using some other way to control your timing events.
