Lowering

If I lower my 92 gt 1.5" will my tires rub? I have 16" pony wheels with 225/50/16 on front and 245/50/16 on the back. I would like to keep my quad shocks on the back because I heard that they help with wheel hop. Thanks
I wanna lower my car but I don't have the money for new wheels yet.

No it won't rub...I have 275/40/17's in the back and lowered and have quadshocks! I only have about an1/8 inch clearance from the quad but doesn't it rub!

My 1988 GT 5.0 rubs when I make sharp turns and I even put wheel spacers on. More than likely it will rub only in front though.

Re: Lowering

Throw those quads away and install a set of good quality upper and lower control arms.
You won't have any wheelhop problems that way and you can get rid of the quads for more clearance.

What is the biggest tire I can fit on the back without having to roll the fenders? What would I need to do to make sure the front tires won't rub and what size tires do I need for the front that won't rub? I am gonna go with either 17" or 15 wheels. Hadn't decided if I want cobra r or weld drag lites.

That's going to depend on what your wheel/tire diameter, width and offset choices are.

Read the Mustang Wheel & Tire FAQ for more information.
