500 miles and then change the fluid using a high quality product, and then always add Fords friction additive.
Our Mustang shop uses Amsoil & Ford additive in the differential. They use different brands for different components all through out the car.

Does that mean to not rip the tires off? Thanx!

Good advice!

Try to refrain from "ripping the tires off" until your gears have had time to "break in" a bit and seat together.

P.S. I never could, and I guess I got lucky 'cause it never hurt anything.

Re: 3.73

Did you get Ford gears? Just curious. That's one job I did not do myself. My shop recommended doing what I had to to get Ford kit along with a rebuild kit with bearings ect.
The first 500 miles went by quickly. It was one of the best mods I have done to the car, alot of fun driving after they were put in!

Re: 3.73

Good deal. I got mine from stangmods.com and ended up with an extra set of bearings. So I believe the Ford Racing kit gives you half of the rebuild kit.
