Probably a 275 series tire.

+1, also how wide is the rim? If it's 9" wide a 275 is the widest recommended for it. Any wider and you have to remove the quad shocks.

With a 2 1/4" drop overall as well.

U cant run wider then 275 on a 9 in rim (i should now i work in a tire shop) it puts to much stress on the bead to go wider and generates a serious blow out risk however i have seen as wide as 305 on the back of a 88 gt with no wheel tubbing done but i dont know if spacers were used nor do i know what the rim offset was i do know that 10in rims were used. (18x10)

A 79-93 Fox Body running a 10" rim with a 295x50x15 tire requires a 6.5" backspace. That rim and tire size will require that you roll the lip on the outer fender and massage the inner fender with a hammer to get adequate clearance.

A 275 tire will fit rims sized from 7.5" to 9.5" and it has a section width of 10.82"

I put 275's on six bar's one time. Looked sick and hooked soooo well. Swayed real bad in corners though. I guess with that much bulging over the lip of the rim there was a lot of deflection in the side wall. But damn they looked sick
