Quad shocks

How neccesary are they? What role do they serve? And how often should they be replaced and if removed, what goes in there place?

If you have tubular control arms, don't worry about them...
Ditch them if they're in The way of your wide wheel/tire combo..

Re: Quad shocks

their actual purpose is to keep the axle from twisting under acceleration. Honestly...they don't do a whole lot.

If you get rid of them do you have to install torque box reinforcement plates?

Install torque box reinforcements if you have a lot of rust or do a lot of dragging with a lot of horsepower.

How about alot of torque? I figured that would be more damaging.
