Fuel gauge!!

I need help installing a fuel gauge.my whole cluster us messed up.its a 89fox.its going to be a performance gauge since the original messed up..thanks..

Make sure you get a gauge with the correct ohm range for your application or it will not read correctly.

And how do I know that ohm of my car?? Is the installation easy??

The gauge manufacturer should list the sending unit ohm range you will need, but if they don't:

75-10 Ohms (Ford Type Sending Units '86 and earlier)
16-158 Ohms (Ford Type Sending Units '87 and later)

The installation is of medium difficulty I would say.

It was ready installing it but they told me I have to change the fuel flotater something like that.

Depends on how full your gas tank is!!....the sending unit and float are inside the gas tank.
You'll need to drop the tank to replace them.hence the less gass in the tank the lighter and easier it will be!!..

My gass gauge is jacked up as well..20$ in premium puts my gauge at full!?..when it drops it drops FAST!!
From full to empty in about 20mi or so!...id guess my float is whacked..

Sounds like your sending unit is sticking or the resistor coil is damaged in some way.
