I got them. Yay
I talked him down 30$. One has a sketchy slit in it. I do.t think it will leak. I made a written contract though to be safe.
And my son helped me unload them.

Thanx. He said someone owed him money about a year and a half so they just gave them to him. And he has no use. He even understood how much they are. He was a good dude. A had a good vibe about it.

Where is the slit and how bad?
Tread, I wouldn't be to worried, but sidewalls I would as they are quite thin to begin with.

If 1 digit after the period will give you the info you need they are perfect.
I can see where one of those could be useful hooked up to the TPS on EFI cars too.

He should be able to.
If he can, maybe have him vulcanize a patch over the slit area to strengthen it.
You should probably run tubes in them anyways to be safer.
A blowout with no tube will deflate very fast and be more dangerous.
With a tube they deflate slower.

yeah. even of it doesnt go all the way through i want to patch there anyways. i just wasnt sure if that was doable with the chemical makeup of the slick. : good

i was really not wanting to have to but tubes. since my car isnt gonna tracked a whole lot, i am trying to keep the budget low. i dont remember what they cost, but i hink they are a bit pricey.

i am fine with only 1/10 th volts. its only 4$ shipped and smaller than most i have seen.

Slicks are more pure "rubber" than most tires, so I would think they would be even easier to patch.

Yeah, at around $65 each, the tubes probably cost as much or more than you paid for the tires.

I couldn't remember what the chart showed for voltage to A/F crossover, so I wasn't sure how many digits you needed.
At that price you may want to grab a spare or two.

Good idea. I already ordered it, but I may order another. I didn't even think about a spare. Just incase it messes up the reinstall will be easier with identical one.

You will be buying more tires for that ride too, since you taught him that.

Note: If you can find a junk inner tube or two at the tire shop that is just a bit smaller than his tires on there, cut some rings off of it, stretch and put them over the plastic tires for lots better traction. Then he will have his own "slicks". Goes better in the grass too.

Yeah, dual 12 volts or a 12 & a 6 volt wired in series to jump the voltage up would make it get busy, but that will also burn out the motor eventually. Oh well sometimes you have to make sacrifices.

P.S. It also makes the Mommy holler at you, but your son will probably love it.

He's learning by watching his dad.

My wife calls me several things on occasion, but that's why God gave us two ears. In one and straight out the other. Boy does she get mad when that happens.

In the end though she has to admit that "most" of my alterations do work better than the original.
