5.0 snapped rods

I'm back. Well lost the motor this summer. Don't underestimate a stock 5.0 block. They can take a beating. Went though standing water that I didn't see. Well started up the next day after parking it. And it started it up and it started knocking really bad. Well finely ripped it all apart come to find out I snapped two rods ( not push rods ) in half. It's amazing. Never went though the block. Anyone have any question comment feel free.

It was about a foot and a half deep. I have no idea how there was no big heavy cracks or knocks. I left it by a garage I where I went into the water and the next day I went to start it and it was knock really bad but I had it running like that for a while and I kept starting it over and over. So I have no idea what caused it. Yeah it's time for a complete change. I'm looking for a block for it and gt-40 heads also if anyone has parts let me know. Thanks.

CARNAGE!

Did the engine suck some water into the intake or over rev when you hit the puddle?

A **** load of water. I have a bbk cold air intake system. Its only those to that snapped. Idk if the block was hot and hitting cold water and dying then starting it with the friction cause the rods to weakin and snap.

Re: 5.0 snapped rods

If your CAI is located inside the inner fender I would bet on the hydrolock scenario for sure. Water just will not compress and the rods are usually the first thing to give.
