Re: Finally got to the track =(

I'm guessing with the gt40x heads you have some good valve springs right? If so, rev that ***** to 6400. The bottom end WILL take it

I know everyones motor is different but most cases shifting past 5500 is a total waist.your shifting past your powerband.

I've had some people tell me the same thing but my numbers at the track dont lie... Granted, its usually only a tenth or so

Like I said every motor is different.you got it though, the best way to tell where you car does best is trial and error.

Also when you say numbers don't lie you have ran multiple passes (consistant) passes at 5500 and 6200?same temp and humidity, the whole nine yards?I'm not saying you don't know what your doing or anything, I am just curious.I myself have not ran many passes down the track yet.I am somewhat inexperienced.I have been around the track a lot and seen lots of synod sheets is the only reason I question.please don't get offended.like I said just curious.

oh dude its cool, I wouldn't consider myself "experienced" either. As far as the same temp and humidity, its texas, when is it NOT humid? lol

as far as temp, I'd venture to guess its been plus or minus 10 degrees difference.

Now I have ran a decent amount of passes with my car and I've definitly learned that slipping the hell outa the clutch, (even with slicks) has rewarded me with the absolute best times. I understand being an auto its not possible to do this but experiment is all I can say. You wont know until you put passes down the track!
