Red headed stepchild

Was watching muscle car on spike where they are building a fox body. They had a segment about the history of the stang. Started of with the 60's then on to the 70's and even talked about the mustang II on to the fox bodies. They then talk about the 4th gen and show a 99-04 model, was there not any mustangs built between 94-98? Tired of them being forgot about! Sorry just had to rant.

Re: Red headed stepchild

So many Mustangs have been built for so many years, that when they try to talk about all of them, they invariably leave some out...

I am sure that the Mustang II guys will tell you they get diss'd all the time..

Ahh.. The Mustang is the longest running continuous production car in History 1964.5 to present. The corvette is a close 2nd, but GM stopped production in 1983. And released the 84. The 94-98 was still considered a Fox since they share the platform. But the 94-98's got a major re-design. I can't believe they didn't explain that on the show.

Well the with the Mustang running strong for almost 50 years..
the camaro died out in 2002
The Firebird died out in 2002
The Challenger died out in 1983

Yet they still try to fight with us.. hmm..
You would think the one car that had never died out and still reigns champ nobody would mess with. Odd.

Re: Red headed stepchild

Some ppl need to own a mustang to know how great they are I didn't know how comfortable or how fun they are until I finally bought one and now I wouldn't own any other kind of car , even my wife wants one now but we can't afford it some day we might have two mustangs double the pleasure double the fun. To me mustangs are and always will be the only car to own.

Again,
Amen. Haha!
I've sworn to always have at least one Mustang in my garage/name on the title, so far I've owned two in less than a year and I'm in love with both!

Divorce would be a seriously considered option if I had to choose between the ol ball and chain or a 69 mach1. Such a beautiful car.........so beautiful in fact I suppose finding another wife would be easy while driving it! Ha! Problem solved

the Mustang II holds that title and hopefully will never lose it, the 94-98 looked good but were just VERY VERY slow. They will have their time just like the Fox bodies do now.

So true.. I've often wondered why and what changes were made to the EFI to lose 10HP, this has puzzled me for some time. Could it be that the elbow between the intake and TB Cause this?

I've always thought the 94-95's would have there day as they are the last of the push rod 5.0L's. I love my 95, and looked for a long time to find one in the options, mild mods and mileage I wanted. Good ones are already getting hard to find IMO.

Re: Red headed stepchild

I saw that show there running angled dumps on there exhaust. Its got a 331(I think) stroker in it and it had t-tops was a nice fox but they took all the time to paint up the outside to look nice and left the under side rusty and nasty...smh

Depends on whether or not your chip modifies the ECU to keep it from pulling out timing during shifts.

AM offered me a deal on tunes for life, I may take them up on it just to know exactly what I have. Wonder if they can do a 100 octane tune...?

That's sweet, says a lot for customer service there. Only way to find out about the tune is to ask, I can't remember if that was even an option when I ordered mine.

Said I'd have send it in but I could get the details and sign me up for the tunes for life at a great deal! Said they wouldn't be able to know who tuned it though. Would love a 100 octane tune, we have a BP that offers it. Got some tire lined up them the new tunes. 4 245/45's w/ less then 200 miles, hopefully less then $100 bucks! Going to see them tomorrow. 2 might be 235/40's

That's not bad for the tires. The only real drawback to the chip is the waiting for it to come back since they have to have it for tuning. Free tunes for life more than make up for that.

Ya I'll see the tires tomorrow, don't know how much they'd change the tunes. Really interested in an 100 octane and up tune. 110 is available too

I'm picking up a set of silver cobra r wheels and tires for 250 tomorrow. I think I might send my chip in for a re-tune, we have a local store that sells 103 race gas from a pump. Not too much more than premium. GL with the tires.

Someone told me before to stay away from the 110 cause it had lead in it. I used to get a 1/4 tank of it then top off w/ 93. That has been almost 10 years though
