Rear main seal replacement?

So i was replacing all the gaskets on my 302....i was gunna go ahead and replace the rear main seal but im not to sure on how to....am i supposed to remove the crank or the seal holdin the cranks down or can it be done strait out tha bak? Help me out

Got tha block out nd took tha flywheel off....i see tha seal but is there a way or technique to get tha seal out without having to pry it nd risk damaging tha crank snout?

Take a small diameter sheet metal screw and thread it into the seal, not too far though. Then just use a small crow bar or pliers and pry it out.

They make a seal puller, i think lisle makes it, got mine from sears, 10 bucks

when you replace it put some grease on the onside lip ( the part that rides on the crank ) if you start it up dry it'll sometimes wipe the seal out .........

Also apply grease to the spring around the seal to help hold it in
