If you do new HCI sway with a pro charger then your looking 425hp-450hp and if you do a stroker kit with a HCI swap and pro charger then your over 500hp buts that's a lot of $$$$$

How many miles are on your car? If your gonna put all that extra horsepower on your stock lower (pistons, rods, crank) have whoever is going to install your mods check your pistons, rings, bearings. Just a FyI

Re: 95 5.0 HO

Also plan on some type of tuning whether it be chip or a tuner.
And, you might want to add a main stud and valley girdle to the block to help it hold up under forced induction.

Have you condsidered a TC instead?
They are easier on the engines and will make more power because they have less parasitic drag and do not induce harmonics or side loads into the crankshaft.

Also keep in mind that when the power gets around the 500 range, the block itself is not going to hold up. These blocks will split like melon right down the center. Something to keep on mind.

Then you'll have to upgrade your cai, mass air, throttle body, fuel injectors, radiator ,fan, most likely your distributor ! Everything has a chain reaction with one another !

Yup. If you want to make anything around 500 HP, you need to do a complete build. If it were me, I would get a short block from a reputable builder that way it will already be balanced and assembled. Then get you H/C/I of choice to top or off. Get your other accessories to finish it off. Now that's a starting point for a power adder, N/A around 375 or so, around 500-525 with simple boost.

Don't forget about suspension to handle all that power.

Re: 95 5.0 HO

The guys are correct.
When approaching 500 and over HP the chance of block failure rises considerably.
However, the majority of failures, from what I have read anyways, are attributed more to improper tuning and detonation than the actual production of too much power.

DSS claims 600-650 HP capabilities on a stock block using their main stud girdle and windage tray and I have read about stock block 5.0 engines living at that HP level, but constant attention to tuning and maintenance is a must.

The best scenario is to start out with a block and rotating assembly that will handle the amount of power you want to make.
The Boss 302/351 FRPP block is a good place to start and they are less expensive than other aftermarket blocks.
