The first time it happen it drain my battery completely, since then I got a optima yellow top battery new 4gauge cables + and - but the same thing keeps happening, could it be that the SOLENOID that Im buying is a cheap made in CHINA PEP BOYS brand or could it be something else?

You probably have a short around your car that is making bad connection causing the silenoid burn and that one messes up the whole battery.. Check the cables that go to the starter.. Or any loose bolts from the ground cable.those are my only suggestions..

Thank you Foxloco for your help I'll do that . One thing that I forgot to mention is that the solenoid issues that I'm having is on my 91 mustang not on my 95 because the starters are different , thank you again.

I'm having the same prob and I cant figure out where the short is coming from so now when I'm not driving my car I take my battery out and put it on a trickle charger till the next time I use it.

It sounds like your starter may be dragging and over amping the solenoids, but it could be a cheap solenoid issue too.

Replace the solenoid with a good quality one and see if that fixes it.
If not then you should probably remove the starter and have it tested.
Or, have the starter tested first then replace the solenoid, however you wish to do it.

+++ I would add to check the main grounds. Bad grounds can cause all
Kinds of havoc!

Re: Help engine keeps cranking

My 91 has the solenoid by the battery and my 95 has the solenoid on the starter . My 91 is the one I'm having issues with. What year is yours? I thought maybe the ignition in the counsel but wires look ok.
