engine code

I have recently found out the engine in my gt was rebuilt and I looked in all the common spots for. the engine casting number I was wondering if somengineeone could tell me where the engine casting number would be im trying to find out if someone put another motor in or just had the origanal one rebuilt thanks

Look just above the starter on the side of the block I believe.

I looked there I didn't see anything but ill look again next time its on a lift because as u know its tough lying on the ground and looking at it

Check the driver's side of the block too.
On the engines that have the casting number on that side it is located at the rear of the block.
