HELP PLEASE! windows fogging...

Last week, I was coming home from Philly & needed the defrost, as my windows started getting foggy. Well, it made it worse, even the door windows. I'm on Route 95 in the middle of the night with crazy *** drivers & I can barely see. I shut it off & put the windows down. Let me tell ya, it was sooooooooo cold out! A few days later, I go in town & it does it again...I've never had this problem. Is there anyone who could help me out with suggestions??? I have another show coming up & it'll be even colder
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

I don't want to sound like I'm some great mechanic or Foxbody expert, but I have heard that their heater cores are pretty crappy. Maybe thats you problem. :dunno:

Re: HELP PLEASE! windows fogging...

its the weather here, its finally changing over. best bet is to put your windows down slightly to let the cool air in so that the temp is the same inside and out. my car does that every year around this time

JROC is right, you need to replace your heater core. Which sucks, cause it's a ***** to change.

when you look under the hood by your heater coil lines you will see a vaccum line . check to see if it's broken

Re: HELP PLEASE! windows fogging...

Don't listen to those southerners, they don't have this problem haha -- chances are the 'fog' is as much on the OUTSIDE of your windows as inside... keep loading it up with washer fluid and you should be able to get around for a while... once it gets a bit cooler out, or with less humid days, it won't be a problem

Yeah it COULD potentially be your heater core, but I doubt it...seeing as we're in the same general area and it happens to every car around here, where its near impossible to clear the glass...

Yea, that's the LAST answer I wanted to hear, it's the 1st thing that came out of my brothers mouth...then he said to check the vacum line. I HOPE you're wrong about the heater core, it IS a mo fo!!! I NEVER wanna change one again. If I owned my own shop & someone came in to have their heater core replaced, I'd give them such a high estimate just so they'd go to another shop Is that mean??? lol

Sorry to disappoint you
Well, I'm a huge fan of the band. One of my favorites. They've also become friends of ours. They're really booked & Philly is the last show that I can travel to so I can see them. I love the Philly shows.

Re: HELP PLEASE! windows fogging...

typically though if it were a heater core everything inside would feel kinda wet, like it was in the room of a humidifier, and you might have some green collection at your feet.

ask me how I know..

Yea, I haven't experienced that...& hope I don't. I went to Philly again tonight & it was just the normal crap, as always...not like my last trip. So, I'm hoping everything is okay. You all have been great to me & helping with solutions. I appreciate it sooooo much! I love it here

you will only get antifreeze on your floor boards if the a/c drain is clogged because my heater core is leaking and the antifreeze is coming out of my a/c drain... it sucks beacuse this is the second heater core my car has eatin up since last June... the first time it went i was gettin antifreeze on my feet b/c my drain was clogged and it smells horribly of coolant inside the car

i think it's the heater core...i live in ohio, where it gets damn cold. when i had the foggy window problem in the winter...it was the heater core....i didnt think it was the core cause the floor was dry & dint smell anti freeze. later i found out it was coming outa the weep hole in the fire wall, which is why the floor board was dry....heater core installations blow. still not sure y i didnt smell coolant...sure as hell got the foggy windows though.

Re: HELP PLEASE! windows fogging...

Keep an eye on the anti freeze level it could be a heater core issue I have replaced a fair share of my own in Fords.
