Help!!!

I have a 94 5.0, and I wanted to do the A9L computer swap. I've read that it can give you big gains and takes tunes better.
I needa know if anybody makes an adapter for the A9L in an sn95. Any help will be appreciated

I don't think it uses an adapter, I think you have to change out part of the wiring harness.

Sounds like a lot of work.
Would it be worth the swap?

Do you have a 5 speed or an automatic?

Then yes, I think it would be worth it.

It's harder to do with an automatic, because the ECU also controls the transmission. If you change to the older style ECU in an auto you also have to install a Baumannator or other transmission controller.

Ah I see.
What pins would I have to change on the connector?

Well, I just completed some research on doing the TM40 to A9L swap.

Apparently it is no longer "the thing to do" and the company making the harness has gone out of business.

Couple that with swap parts and tuning prices in the $1000+ range and it quickly becomes to expensive and is to difficult for most people.

Another option is to use the AFM PMS to tune the ECU that you have.
With the PMS' capabilities you should be able to tune for almost any modification you'd wish to make. It runs around $969, but it is all "plug & play" with no wiring needed and no laptop necessary to tune.
