Timing Chains

Got my eyes set on 2 timing chains which would u guys prefer? Ford racing or comp cam. Both are heavy duty double rollers except ford racing is 20 bucks more

Unless the brand name is important go with the comp cams set.

What CAM are you using? If you have a aftermarket I'd go with the timing chain recommended for that CAM!

The cam shouldn't matter. You get new gears with the timing chain set.

Well I have the trick flow stage 1 Cam and I was told to go with the matching trick flow timing chain ! (that's what the summit racing tech told me)

As long as its a double roller it doesn't really matter what brand you buy. The one that comes in the trickflow kit is a summit brand not their own anyway.

I was gonna use edelbrocks double roller for $45 but trick flows was $75

I bought a cloyes set. Bought one of the more expensive ones they had though.

That was just a ploy to get you to buy that timing chain.
They probably had a bunch of them and needed to move them out.


When I need one, I usually go for the Cloyes True Roller.
It is one of the better timing chain sets out there.
My preference would be to use a belt drive to help reduce the harmonics, but they are just to expensive.
