Possible motor fail?

This morning when i got to school alot of steam poured out of my hood. I brought it into the autoshop and realised that the water pump had went on it. The motor is a 1975 302. So i pulled the alternator, fan shroud and and fan and realised that there was possibly oil sprayed all over the inside of the fan shroud. Any suggestions on what this could be

Are you sure it was oil, or was it just antifreeze?
If it was oil and you still have the stock fan with a fan clutch, then the fan clutch may have overheated and blown a seal. In which case you will have to replace it too.

+1. You should also look into an electric fan rather the stock clutch fan. Jegs has them for a pretty good price its where I got mine
