87 rear hatch/trunk: Line-X?
Hi, quick question:

I bought the aluminum trunk (hatchback) floor from Scott Rod Fab, which looks really nice. While removing the carpet etc from the trunk to install it, it occurred to me that it might be really nice to spray the trunk and spare tire well with line-x. I am a former jeep cj owner, had my jeep tub sprayed. Line-x is great stuff, nearly indestructible and provides significant sound insulation, etc.

So has anyone tried it? I think i am gonna ask my local line x dealer.

All input/ comments is appreciated.

I thought about doing this to my coupe too. It seems like it would make for a decent sound deadener as well.

Curious, What in the world did you do to come up with a post looking like that?

As long the stuff isn't too flammable it should work just fine. I have used plain old rubberized undercoating before with excellent results too, and I bet it is less expensive.
If it can be painted over the multi-colored splatter paint looks pretty good too.

Yeah, expensive. Jeep tubs cost $700 or so, pickup beds $400 or so. So $250 is about right. There's no comparison between line x and the liner stuff you can paint on yourself, tho.

If you like it and can swallow that price, go for it.
I'm just shocked at the price for such a small area.

I sprayed a battery box on an old Cub Cadet garden tractor with ZEP Rubberized undercoating over 15 years ago and it is still in great shape even with the battery bouncing around on it. Total cost around $8 for a can.

By the way I checked out Scott Rod Fab, nice panels and pricing they have there.
I may get their seat delete, side panels and trunk floor and side panels for my car.
