Exhaust system help!!

I have 89 gt..my system is straight pipe all the way to the back.. I ordered the long tube headers.. I want to know what I should do to other than headers to gain power/torque but not loose any of them..I have an x pipe and two flowmasters 40 series available to put on only if they help..or what should I throw on..thanks.

If the X is short(to match the long tubes, normal size will not work) I would use that and the mufflers for the best sound and power.

Had the same w/ an H on my old 95.
Have to say though I prefer my Mac mufflers sound wise, similar sound but way different if that makes sense lol
