Sad but not so sad

I've come to the decision that I need to sell my mustang because being 18 I don't have all that much money for gas so I'm going to be getting rid of it.. I'll stick around here but I won't post as much(Not like I was anyway haha). I'm looking at a 1988 BMW 325i right now but unsure of what my final vehicle will be

I second this opinion.
One like you have is getting close to the point that it will start to appreciate in value.
I'd stash it away for the future and work toward getting a beater.

+1 u will regret getting rid of it. Like they said I would try to find a little 4 banger truck or car. I have a 92 chevy 1500 2wd amd it sucks the gas. My 94 mustang with 4:10 gears gets about 4 mpg better than the truck. So Im thinking about trading my truck for a 4 banger s10 but I'm deff keeping my stang

Dont get rid of the stang! How about trade your stang in for a newer stang that gets better gas mileage? Huh? anyone with me on this idea?

I really want to get a beater car but we are only able to pay for one car for me at a time, if every thing works out I'll be able to keep it. If not the we have to get me a cheaper car

Get out there and hustle up some extra work.
That's what I have done since before I was even your age.
I was the first kid in my age range in our neighbor hood to have go-karts, mini-bikes, motorcycles and eventually cars, because I decided what I wanted and then worked toward getting it, doing any type of jobs I could find. I bought my first car when I was 13 years old.

I subscribe to the belief that anyone can achieve anything they desire as long as they are willing to work for it.
I know you can do it too if you really want to.

Ya definitely get some extra work and save as much money as possible and dealerships can set up payment plans for you. Well the bank that the dealer goes with.

Everyone regrets selling a mustang. Unless ofcourse they didn't sell one. Ok and the dealers. Oh and the guy who is going to reply saying he doesn't regret selling his mustang, but deep down he regrets it and several years later he'll think to himself "damn, sure wish I didn't sell that mustang".

@18 i had a f150 with a 5.4L...if i could survive with minimum wage at the time you can afford to keep the stang. try not romping on it so much....it does work

Re: Sad but not so sad

^ Haha I only romp on it at the drag strip and my dad puts the gas in the car for that... I just drive a lot so it burns the gas up pretty quick it gets like low teens for mileage

Glad to hear you get to keep it.

dreamstang is 100% correct.

I can manage 22-24 mpg out of my 86 GT on a good day, but it does take some restraint too.
Try to curb all the tendencies to rev it a bit at lights, quick take offs and running through the gears at 1/2 throttle or more.
You'd be shocked at how much those bad habits can affect your mileage.
